What Is White-Label Branding?
White-label branding lets you put LeadRanks' SEO reports and audits in front of your clients under your own agency's name — your logo, your colors, your domain, and your email address — instead of LeadRanks'. Your clients never need to know LeadRanks exists; as far as they can tell, you built the reporting yourself.
This guide walks through every step: turning branding on, choosing how reports are served (an instant subdomain or your own custom domain), and optionally sending report emails from your own mail server.
White-label branding is available on the Agency and Enterprise plans.
What You Can Customize
- Logo, favicon, and colors — your logo replaces LeadRanks' everywhere, including the browser tab icon on your reports
- Company name — shown throughout every report
- Report header and footer text — your own messaging on every PDF and shared report
- Email signature and email template styling — colors, fonts, button style, header/footer HTML
- The domain reports are served on — an instant
yourname.leadranks.iosubdomain, or your own custom domain - The email address reports are sent from — via your own custom SMTP server
Step 1: Turn On White-Label Branding
- Go to Settings → White-Label Branding.
- Upload your logo and set your primary, secondary, and accent colors.
- Enter your company name, and optionally custom header/footer text for reports and an email signature.
- Make sure the Active toggle is switched on.
- Click Save Branding.
From this point on, every report and email your clients see carries your branding instead of LeadRanks' — logo, colors, and even the favicon in the browser tab.
Step 2: Choose How Reports Are Served
Under Advanced, you have two options for the domain your reports live on. You can use either one, or both — the custom domain always takes priority once it's verified.
Option A: Instant Subdomain
The fastest way to get a branded link with zero DNS work.
- Under Subdomain Instant Setup, type the subdomain you want (e.g.
youragency). - Click Save Branding, then click Verify Subdomain.
Your reports are now served at youragency.leadranks.io — live within seconds, no DNS changes needed.
Option B: Your Own Custom Domain
For a fully branded experience — e.g. reports.youragency.com — with your own domain in the address bar.
- Under Custom Domain, enter the domain you want to use (e.g.
reports.youragency.com) and click Save Branding. - In your own DNS provider, add a CNAME record:
reports.youragency.com → leadranks.io. - Click Verify Domain.
- You'll likely see a "pending validation" status along with one or two more DNS records to add next — this is normal, not an error. It means your domain has been recognized and a certificate is being issued for it; you just need to prove you control the domain first. When this happens, you'll see two options:
- Recommended: a one-time CNAME record. Add it once and it silently covers everything from here on — including all future certificate renewals — so you never have to touch DNS for this domain again.
- Alternative: one or more TXT records. These work too, but can change on a future renewal, so you may occasionally need to update them again later.
- Wait 10–15 minutes for DNS to propagate, then click Verify Domain again. Repeat if it's still processing — certificate issuance is asynchronous and can occasionally take a little longer.
- Once it shows verified, you're done.
From that point, your custom domain is used automatically in every report link and outgoing email. If you chose the recommended CNAME, certificate renewal is fully automatic, forever — there's nothing further to configure in Cloudflare or anywhere else, and no ongoing DNS maintenance beyond the record(s) you added once.
A Note on Security
Your custom domain is served through the same protected network LeadRanks itself runs on — the same DDoS and traffic protection, the same infrastructure. Your own server's real address is never exposed, and nothing about your existing site or DNS setup needs to change beyond the DNS record(s) above.
Step 3: Custom Email Sending (Optional)
By default, report emails are sent from LeadRanks' own mail servers with your branding applied. If you'd rather send from your own domain's mail server (e.g. so emails come from [email protected]), you can configure your own SMTP:
- Under Custom SMTP Host, enter your mail server's hostname, port, username, and password. A password is required if you enter a host — the form won't let you save a host with no password, since that combination could never actually send anything.
- Click Save Branding first, then click Test SMTP Connection — the test checks your saved settings, so saving first ensures it's testing exactly what you just entered.
- Once the test succeeds, all report emails will be sent through your own mail server from then on.
Until custom SMTP is fully saved and working, report emails keep sending from LeadRanks' own address in the meantime — branding still applies, it's only the sending domain that's affected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own Cloudflare account, or to configure anything there myself?
No. Your custom domain setup runs entirely through LeadRanks — nothing to create, configure, or manage in Cloudflare's dashboard, now or later.
What if I change my custom domain later?
Just update it under Custom Domain, save, and repeat the DNS + verify steps for the new domain. The old registration is cleaned up automatically.
What if verification seems stuck?
Double-check the DNS record(s) shown were added exactly as displayed, give it a little more time for DNS propagation, and click Verify Domain again. Certificate issuance is asynchronous on the certificate provider's side, so "not active yet" shortly after adding a new record is expected, not a failure.
Should I use the CNAME or the TXT records for domain verification?
The CNAME, if you're offered the choice. It's a single one-time DNS entry that transparently handles the current certificate and every future renewal — you'll never need to revisit it. TXT records work too, but a future renewal can occasionally require updating them again.
Will my clients ever see LeadRanks branding?
No — once white-label branding is active and (if used) your custom domain is verified, every report, share link, email, and even the browser tab icon your clients interact with carries your branding and your domain.
